Turkey's BOTAS signs deal with Italy's Edison for natural gas and LNG cooperation
Turkey's state energy company BOTAS said on Friday that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Italian energy company Edison to explore potential opportunities for cooperation in the fields of natural gas and LNG.
Under the agreement, natural gas and liquefied natural gas supply opportunities and joint commercial prospects will be assessed, BOTAS said in a statement.
A joint working group will be established to examine the technical, commercial and regulatory aspects of a potential hydrogen-compatible natural gas interconnector between Turkey and Italy it also said.
BOTAS said it is aimed that "the strategic partnership" with Edison will make a significant contribution to the development of both Turkey and Italy, connections within the Mediterranean basin, and regional energy supply security.
