(Reuters) - Hungary's state-owned energy group MVM has agreed to buy 100 mcm of natural gas from Azerbaijan's state energy firm SOCAR, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on his Facebook page on Friday.
Szijjarto said SOCAR would ship the gas by the end of the year and the deal could pave the way to a long-term gas purchase agreement under which Hungary could receive up to 2 bcm of gas from Azerbaijan annually.
