Nakilat transitions LNG Al Ghashamiya to in-house management

Nakilat has assumed full ship management and operations of Q-Flex LNG carrier Al Ghashamiya from Shell Trading and Shipping Company Ltd. (STASCo) with effect from May 24, as part of the planned and phased transition announced on Oct. 19, 2016.

With a cargo carrying capacity of 217,591 cubic meters, Al Ghashamiya is wholly-owned by Nakilat and chartered by Qatargas. The vessel built in South Korea by Samsung Heavy Industries was delivered in April 2009 and has been in service ever since.
Al Ghashamiya is the eighth wholly-owned LNG vessel that will come under the management of Nakilat Shipping Qatar Ltd. (NSQL), bringing the total number of vessels managed by NSQL to 16, comprising of 12 LNG and 4 LPG carriers.
