Beijing energy group ties up with Tangshan govt for LNG terminal

BEIJING (Reuters) — Beijing Energy Investment Holding signed strategic alliance agreement with local authorities of Tangshan to cooperate on building a large-scale receiving facility of LNG, according to a report on an industry website on Wednesday.

The cooperation, which also covers gas power plants and distributed energy projects, is part of the government plan to boost gas use to replace coal in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
The LNG facility is proposed at Caofeidian of Tangshan city, in northern China.
Beijing Energy Investment Holding is controlled by Beijing municipal government.
