MILAN (Reuters) -- Italy's biggest gas distributor Italgas is interested in buying the distribution assets of Gas Natural in the country if the Spanish group decides to sell them, the Italgas CEO said.
"Gas Natural may eventually put its distribution assets for sale... Italgas will look very carefully and participate," Paolo Gallo said in a conference call.
Sources told Reuters Gas Natural has hired Rothschild to carry out a review of its Italian business which could result in a sale of the assets for up to 700 million euros.
