Adrienne Blume, Editor In US gas news, Freeport LNG shipped its first LNG cargo of 150,000 m3 from Train 1 on September 3. Freeport LNG is a three-train facility with a combined LNG baseload production capacity of 1.98 Bft3d, located on Quintana Island in Freeport, Texas. The second and third trains at the facility are under construction and expected to be placed into service in January 2020 and May 2020, respectively. Freeport is the fifth US LNG export terminal to come online since 2016. Freeport is implementing the largest fully-electric motor drive LNG plant in the world, reducing emissions at the facility by more than 90% compared with other plants that use combustion turbines.
