At the time of this publication, Gulf Energy Information’s Global Energy Infrastructure database was tracking nearly 340 active gas processing/LNG projects around the world. Most active projects continue to be in the Asia-Pacific region, followed by the U.S. Many Asian nations continue to build out natural gas and LNG infrastructure to satisfy increasing demand for power and industrial generation. Despite a pause on new LNG investments, the U.S. is still developing tens of millions of tons of new LNG capacity, along with several recent announcements of new gas processing capacity in shale gas basins.
