Very little has changed since Gas Processing & LNG’s February report. A few projects—mostly in Asia and the U.S.—were completed and commissioned. These completions did little to affect total active project market share by region globally.
At the time of this publication, Gulf Energy Information’s Global Energy Infrastructure database was tracking nearly 340 active gas processing/LNG projects around the world. With a 30% market share, Asia continues to be the leader in active natural gas projects. For several years, many Asian nations have invested in new natural gas processing capacity and infrastructure to lower emissions and strive toward net-zero goals. Several Asian nations—led by China and India—are investing heavily in new LNG import/regasification facilities, along with additional infrastructure to move natural gas inland to demand centers.
