Nord Stream 2 ready for commissioning Russia’s Gazprom announced in late December that the $11-B Nord Stream 2 pipeline is ready to start sending natural gas to Germany. The natural gas pipeline, which will span the length of the Baltic Sea, will run approximately 1,200 km from Western Russia to Greifswald, Germany. Once commissioned, the pipeline will send 55-Bm3y of natural gas to Western Europe. However, Russia’s actions against Ukraine may delay the start of natural gas flows to Europe—at the time of this publication, Germany regulators have yet to sign off on the project and announced they may not approve the pipeline until 2H 2022. Once approved, Nord Stream 2 will help
