Russia's Oct. pipeline gas exports to Europe up 2.5% y/y
Russian energy giant Gazprom's average daily natural gas supplies to Europe in October edged up by 2.5% a year earlier and held broadly steady from September, calculations showed on Friday.
Gazprom's average daily pipeline exports increased to 90.6 MMm3, according to calculations based on data from European gas transmission group Entsog and Gazprom's daily reports on gas transit via Ukraine.
That was up from 90.2 MMm3 in September and 88.4 MMm3 in October 2023.
Gazprom's total natural gas supplies to the European Union stood at about 2.81 Bm3 in October, the data showed. Of that, 1.5 Bm3, or 48.3 mcm per day, was sent via Turkey.
Gas transit via Ukraine averaged around 1.31 Bm3 last month, or 42.3 MMm3d.
Gazprom's natural gas exports to Europe this year have reached about 26.6 Bm3 so far, up 15% year on year.
The company, which has not published its own monthly statistics since the start of 2023, did not respond to a request for comment.
Russia supplied about 63.8 Bm3 of gas to Europe by various routes in 2022, Gazprom data and Reuters calculations show. The volume fell by 55.6% to 28.3 Bm3 last year.
At their peak in 2018–2019, annual flows to Europe reached between 175 Bm3 and 180 Bm3.
