Kazakhstan to invest heavily in new gas processing plant capacity

The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan has initiated 60 investment projects valued at 17 trillion tenge (approximately $38 B) under the Nationwide Pool of Investment Projects.
Significant emphasis is placed on constructing gas processing plants, including a 4 billion cubic meters per year facility at the Karachaganak field scheduled for completion by 2028. Additionally, by 2030, a new gas processing plant capable of handling 2.5 Bm3y will be operational at the Kashagan field. Currently, construction is ongoing for a 1-Bm3y capacity plant at Kashagan, expected to commence operations in the latter half of 2026.
