Arctic-2 LNG project in Russia on track to start production in 2023

(Reuters) - The Arctic-2 liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Russia is on track to start production of the first train in 2023, Mitsui & Co Ltd Chief Financial Officer Tetsuya Shigeta said on Tuesday.

The Japanese trading house intends to stay in the Sakhalin-2 gas and oil project as well as the Arctic-2 project, while complying with sanctions by Western nations on Russia, to contribute to Japan's energy security, Shigeta told a news conference.
