Blue Stream gas pipeline to extend maintenance work
Maintenance work on Gazprom’s Blue Stream pipeline will last 10 days longer than originally reported, a Turkish official told Reuters, in an operation that will lead to a temporary suspension of gas flow until May 29.
“Between May 13-29 May, BOTAS will carry out maintenance work on the pipeline’s land unit while Gazprom works on the sea,” the official told Reuters.
Last week, Gazprom said it planned maintenance works at the Blue Stream gas pipeline on May 13-19.
The Blue Stream pipeline, launched in 2002, carried 11.1 billion cubic metres of gas to Turkey last year. Gazprom also supplies gas to Turkey, one of its biggest customers, via the recently launched Turkstream pipeline. (Reporting by Orhan Coskun Writing by Ece Toksabay Editing by Dominic Evans)
