GTT receives order from Samsung Heavy Industries to design the tanks of an LNG Carrier
GTT has received an order notification from Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) for the tanks design of a Liquefied Natural Gas Carrier (LNGC) on behalf of the Japanese ship-owner Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK).
GTT’s Mark III Flex membrane containment system has been selected to equip the LNGC, offering a capacity of 174,000 m3. The vessel’s delivery is scheduled for Q1 2021.
"We are very pleased to continue our partnership of excellence with Samsung Heavy Industries for the benefit of NYK, an owner with whom we have a very close relationship," commented Philippe Berterottière, Chairman and CEO of GTT.
GTT (Gaztransport & Technigaz) is an engineering company expert in containment systems with cryogenic membranes used to transport and store liquefied gas, in particular LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas).
