China considers extending subsidies for unconventional gas
BEIJING, (Reuters) -China’s State Council, the Cabinet, said the government is considering to extend subsidies for unconventional natural gas productions, and will push the gasification drive in a measured manner in accordance with demand.
The Cabinet says domestic natural gas output to top 200 billion cubic metres by end of 2020. The target level will be about 36 percent higher than the output rate in 2017.
Without giving further details, the Cabinet said it will consider extending subsidies for unconventional gas between 2021 and 2025, and the subsidies will also cover tight gas.
It said it will also consider value-added tax rebates on LNG imports and grant subsidies for gas storage beyond state-set targets.
