Russia's Yamal LNG says output at its two lines reaches full capacity

MOSCOW, (Reuters) - Russia’s Yamal LNG plant said that production at its two lines, or trains, has reached full capacity of 11 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) a year, while commissioning works on a third train are ongoing.

The $27 billion Yamal LNG plant developed by Russia’s Novatek, France’s Total as well as China’s CNPC and the Silk Road Fund, started exporting in December.

Novatek is building a third production train which is expected to be launched next year, raising annual LNG output to 16.5 million tonnes. It also expects to launch a fourth line with a capacity of 900,000 tonnes per year at a later date. (Reporting by Katya Golubkova and Vladimir Soldatkin; Editing by Susan Fenton)
