JAX LNG receives approval for bunkering at LNG facility
8/24/2017
The US Coast Guard issued a Letter of Acceptance for the operation of JAX LNG's waterfront LNG facility and for planned barge-to-ship LNG bunkering operations.
The bunkering operations will be completed with TOTE Maritime's Marlin Class ships and JAX LNG's barge, Clean Jacksonville.
Barge-to-ship LNG bunkering for the in-service vessels Isla Bella and Perla del Caribe is scheduled to begin in early 2018. The ships have been relying on truck-to-ship bunkering since their respective debuts in 2015 and 2016.
TOTE Maritime has received more than 18 MMgal of LNG via truck-to-ship bunkering at JAX LNG's facility at the Port of Jacksonville since October 2015.
