Actemium awarded EPC contract for control systems upgrade in Abu Dhabi

PARIS, France — Actemium has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Limited (GASCO) for the upgrade of the control systems at the company’s Asab-1 plant.

Situated 180 km south of Abu Dhabi, GASCO’s Asab-1 plant processes condensate-rich gas, which is extracted from feed-gas and then transferred to one of the UAE’s national refineries.

The scope of the project comprises the upgrade of the Siemens Distributed Control System (DCS), the replacement of the emergency shutdown (ESD), the fire and gas system (FGS), the burner management system (BMS), the turbines and compressor controls, as well as the expansion and modification of several instrument and electrical shelters (IES), including HVAC and fittings.

Actemium’s major projects business unit will execute the project directly from Abu Dhabi, meaning it will be close to both GASCO and the plant.

“Winning this contract confirms Actemium’s leading position in complex control system revamp projects and strengthens our continuous involvement with the ADNOC group, while enhancing our presence in the UAE, where we have been active for more than 30 yr,” said Jimmy Neron, Business Development Director at VINCI Energies Oil and Gas.
