Malaysia's Petronas signs agreement to explore LNG bunkering

KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) -- Malaysian oil company Petronas said on Tuesday it has signed an agreement with Gas4Sea partners, comprising Engie SA, Mitsubishi Corp and Nippon Yusen KK to explore collaboration in promoting LNG as a preferred marine fuel.

Gas4Sea is a partnership created to jointly promote LNG as a cleaner maritime fuel, by providing LNG bunkering services to the global market, the statement said.

Petronas said the agreement was signed by its subsidiary Petronas LNG Ltd and its shipping affiliate, MISC Bhd.

The parties to the agreement will explore ways to collaborate and identify potential business opportunities in relation to LNG bunkering, the statement said.
