Technology, engineering and project management company Neste Jacobs has successfully carried out the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) project for Skangas’ LNG import terminal. The 30 Mcm LNG terminal at Pori is fully equipped to unload ships, store LNG, bunker ships, load trucks and distribute re-gasified LNG by pipeline to an industrial park.
Neste Jacobs’ process risk evaluations and safety automation assessments, carried out during the engineering phase of the project, ensure the LNG terminal will operate safely.
One of the most significant characteristics of Pori terminal is the high level of automation enabling even the possibility for remote operation. Pori LNG terminal was opened for commercial operation in July 2016.
“The Pori terminal is the first LNG terminal in Finland and we at Skangas are satisfied to have this challenging project successfully completed as planned. This terminal boasts lots of modern technology and automation and we are looking forward to straightforward and reliable operation for years to come”, said Tommy Mattila, Sales and Marketing Director of Skangas.
