Cheniere to commission Sabine Pass Train 2 in September

Cheniere Energy announced its plan to commission the second 4.5-MMtpy liquefaction train at its Sabine Pass LNG terminal in Louisiana in September.

The first train commenced production in February, and seven LNG cargoes have been shipped as of May. The majority of the Sabine Pass cargoes are under long-term contracts with European and Indian customers.

Trains 3 and 4 are scheduled to start up at Sabine Pass in April 2017 and August 2017, respectively. Cheniere hopes to eventually operate as many as six trains at the terminal, and add three more to its proposed Corpus Christi, Texas LNG facility.

Construction on the Corpus Christi project began in mid-2015.
