Amec Foster Wheeler wins pre-FEED work for Beaço LNG in Timor-Leste
Amec Foster Wheeler has secured a pre-FEED (front end engineering design) contract by the government of Timor-Leste for the proposed Beaço liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant.
The company’s scope of supply for the US$3.8 MM contract includes concept selection studies, the development of technical design, the development of procurement and construction strategies, project implementation plans, capital cost estimates and the overall project schedule.
The work will be done in close consultation with Timor-Leste's national oil company, TIMOR GAP, which is currently managing the implementation of the Tasi Mane project. This project consists of three clusters of development situated along 155 km of Timor-Leste’s southern coast — the Suai supply base, the Betano refinery and the Beaço LNG plant.
The contract will be delivered from Amec Foster Wheeler’s LNG center of expertise in Reading, UK, with collaboration with its team in Malaysia.
