Although the gas processing and LNG industries took a major hit during the COVID-19 pandemic, new project announcements within the sector have increased for two straight months. According to Gulf Energy Information’s Energy Web Atlas, new monthly gas processing/LNG project announcements have more than doubled since April. Most of the new projects are gas processing plants and/or LNG import terminals in Asia, followed by new hydrogen projects in Western Europe. Additional hydrogen pilot plants and commercial ventures are being developed to utilize hydrogen as an alternative fuel.
