Lee Nichols, Editor/Associate Publisher, Hydrocarbon Processing Energy Web Atlas is tracking more than 420 active gas processing and LNG projects around the world. Approximately 23% of active gas processing/LNG projects are in the US. This region has witnessed a significant increase in new gas processing and LNG capacity additions over the past several years. According to the US Energy Information Administration, the lower 48 states have a total gas processing capacity of more than 80 Bft3d. At approximately 32%, Texas has the largest market share of total US gas processing plants in the US. Oklahoma follows Texas with 16% market share for total number of gas processing plants.
