S. J. Lee, H. Y. Yoon and G. S. Chang, GS Engineering and Construction, Seoul, South Korea It can be difficult to find common criteria for the design of NGL recovery plants. Many processes are available in the market for NGL recovery. These processes typically utilize cryogenic-turboexpander-based processes with one or more reflux streams, such as conventional industrial single-stage (ISS), gas subcooled process (GSP), cold residue reflux (CRR), recycle split vapor (RSV) and others.1 The differences from one scheme to the next include the source of the reflux stream(s) and slight variances in heat integration. They show different system configurations and different operating conditions due
