Predict gas hydrate formation temperature with a simple correlation

M. Safamirzaei, Namvaran P&T Co., Tehran, Iran Hydrate formation temperature (HFT) can be precisely predicted using a new, simple correlation. The proposed equation has been developed based on 22 data points, covering gas specific gravities from 0.55 to 1, and it has been compared to several well-known and accurate gravity models. Additional calculations have been performed to determine the predictive capabilities of the proposed model for new data. Several experimental data points have been used to evaluate the correlation performance for natural gas mixtures, and accurate predictions have confirmed the reliability of the proposed correlation.
