INEOS dives into UK shale gas industry Swiss chemicals firm INEOS is planning to invest $1 B in UK onshore shale gas exploration and appraisal. Further investment would follow if the company moves into development and production. If INEOS wins all of the petroleum exploration and development licenses (PEDLs) it has bid for from the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), then the company will become the biggest player in the UK shale gas industry.
